How did I get so lucky?????

This past week Dustin has done a lot for me!!!!!!! I don't know how I got so lucky to be with him. I have been in a lot of stress the last few weeks and he seriously has sticked with me through the thick and thin and I can't thank him enough. He has done so much for me this last week.

Every Tuesday and Thursday I have a late class that goes till 9p.m. and a lot of the time I'm way hungry about time I get out of that class. Well this last Thursday Dustin brought me dinner during the class and there was a note in the paper sack thanking me for making his day and that he loves me!!!!! And I'm always blown away how sweet he is.

Also this last week I have been sick, like really sick. I have probably lost at least 5 pounds this week, and haven't been myself lately. When I'm in a lot of stress my body tends to just shut down and not function well; and just between school, engagement, and just daily life I think my body just had it for this week.

Well this last Saturday when I woke up I was in a lot of pain, I could barely move that I decided to stay home and not go to school and draw. Well, being as lucky as I am, Dustin came over to just visit me, but he not only came but he brought with him some gerber daisies and a note wishing me to start feeling better!! He's such a gem, I really don't know how I got this lucky! I'm truly blessed!

He Popped the Question and I Said Yes!!!!

Today has been one of the greatest days of my life!!!! Dustin proposed to me!!!! I have never been happier!!!!! Dustin truly brings joy in my life, the last few months he has become my best friend! I don't know how I got so lucky to have the opportunity to spent all eternities with him!

So you want to know how he did it?

Well.... here we go....

This morning we decided to go hike the R Mountain to watch the sunrise. When Dustin came to pick me up he had gerber daisies with him, Boy, what a great way to start the day. When we were on our way to the R mountain we decided to just watch the sunrise in Beaver Dick Park because the sun was rising a lot faster than we anticipated. We sat on a dock by the river and it was just gorgeous, there was fog everywhere, and all you could hear were the ducks in the distance. Dustin brought his guitar with him and said that he had a song that he wanted to sing to me because it reminds him of me. The song was called:

And of course I said YES!!!!!!! 

Than he went to give me a ring and apologized that it wasn't the ring that I picked out because my ring was not ready yet, so he pulled out a 25 cent ring that he got from a venting machine, but I still loved it! I told him I didn't care as long as the ring was from him! After that we celebrated with sparkling cider and plastic cups! I couldn't stop smiling after that!

Than afterwards we had the opportunity to call and text everyone the great news! I also had the opportunity to talk to Dustin's parents for the first time over the phone, I was nervous at first, but once I got talking with them, I fell in love with them right away! I'm super excited to meet them and be part of their family!!!!!!!!

 I'm super excited about getting married to the most amazing guy in the whole world!

EASTER EGGS!

For Easter Dustin and I doubled with Paul and Bri and we dyed( I think that's how you spell it?) easter eggs, it was a lot of fun. Even though I think everyone dropped one of their eggs, so we had a lot of cracked eggs. I think that Paul and I took the dying Easter eggs too seriously, we went too technical and spend way too long getting it just the right color!!!! -It must run in the family.

I love Easter! And I'm so grateful for my Savior and I'm grateful to celebrate his resurrection!

THE BEST WEEKEND! ...... and a little funny story!

This last weekend Dustin and I went down to Utah for conference! It was soooo fun! We drove down Saturday morning and arrived at my sister's house at noon, but my sisters and my mom were having a ladies lunch,  so I literally dumped Dustin at my sisters and said, "well here are my 16 nieces and nephews and my brother, and brother-in-laws you never met, good luck and I will see you in a bit!" I felt soooo bad! I was worried the whole time we were at lunch, wondering how Dustin was handling the mob.

After two hours I returned, worried  to see a disaster but instead it was quite the opposite, Dustin was there with my nieces and nephews having a blast. Phew.... what a relief! Maybe it went too well because Dustin took my popularity away because my nieces and nephews wanted to play with Dustin more than me! ha ha, I wouldn't haven't it any other way! It was just really fun, I thought Dustin fit right in the family. This trip also was really fun because driving to Utah and back gave Dustin and I the opportunity to really talk with no homework in the way, and it was really nice that we didn't  want to return to school the next day. 

Now the FUNNY story..... Well Dustin and I are art majors, so the whole art department knows that we are dating and are always wondering what is happening in our relationship, in other words we are something they like to gossip about and make little predictions.... well it doesn't help that I'm the art secretary as well.... well this past weekend we also went ring shopping (which was super fun by they way!) and some of the teachers heard about it because my super visor loved mentioning to anyone who walked through the office doors what I was doing for the weekend. Well the story continues.... on Tuesday Dustin was in his Digital Illustration class when the teacher started the class by, " I heard there were some good news that happened this week. Someone in this class got engaged." Dustin looked up and realized the teacher was talking about him but he didn't know what to do so he just decided to remain quite and hoped that the teacher might caught on, but no. The teacher continued by saying, " I will give you a clue, he's the one with the biggest tablet." than all of the class yelled "DUSTIN!!!!" and poor Dustin had to clear some things up, and the teacher felt horrible, but we personally think its funny. Pretty Hilarious! 

Than the other day Dustin and I were in an art class together and my teacher always calls me "west" and this time he was like "MISSSS West." and than looks at me and smiles, " I won't be calling you that for much longer!" It's really fun dating an art major!!!!

I'm Dating the Most aMAZeINg Guy in the Whole WIde World!

Pretty much I'm dating the most aMAZeIng guy in the whole wide world! I seriously don't know how I got so lucky, here are some things about him that I love or that he does for me that just blows my mind!!!!

1. I have seriously  never met a nicer guy.

2. He's strong in the Gospel.

3. Hard worker.

4. Very talented.

5. Loves kids!

6. Quotes movies (I knew we were meant to be when I noticed he quoted movies).

7. He bursts into song while we are walking around campus.

8. He makes me smile! I don't think I have stopped smiling since we have been dating.

9. He always opens the door for me!

10. He is honest!

11. His heart is good!

12. I have never been happier!

13. He is my best friend, I know that I can tell him anything!

14. He still hangs out with me even when he knows all my quirks!

It's Been a Good Week!

First thing I just want to say is that I have been truly blessed! This weekend I had so many people come and comforted me! Seriously, I didn't realize how lucky I was! So thanks to all my friends and family, you're truly blessings in my life.

This last weekend I colored my hair in dark brown with a red velvet tint to it! It's super fun, I like it, my mother on the other hand said: "You have a purple hair! Why would you ever want to do that!" I love her still!

Than this last week Dustin and I had a good chat, and we are back together! And wow! Did I miss that kid over the weekend!! We both agreed that was the longest weekend and life was just not the same!!!! It's amazing what communication can do! So that happened this Tuesday, so the week started of really good.

Than today I found something out that I have been dreaming about since I was a senior in high school and it was my goal ever since I heard about it! I made it the BFA Art Program!!!!!!! I'm so excited!! I have been working really hard to get in this program and I was way nervous to turn my portfolio in because I barely made the cut off line credit wise and I knew that I was competing with some really good juniors and seniors! But Brother Huntsman (my favorite art teacher in the whole wide world) gave me the thumbs up, and said "shhh" because technically I'm not so post to know until a week or so! It's pays to be the art secretary!

So life can get any better than this!

WHAT AN AMAZING BIRTHDAY! BIG 20!

This is the note that Dustin gave me, well it's the sketch. He finished it on photo shop but it wouldn't print out so he gave this to me instead! And I love it!!!! It's a picture of the two characters in WALL-E, that's the first movie we saw on our first date! When he first gave it to me I couldn't help but smile!

Well, yesterday was my 20th birthday! And it was the best yet!!!! Dustin spoiled me like crazy! I don't know how I got so lucky to be with him! I mean he blew me away!!! 

First thing, I woke up with a text from him saying: "happy birthday beautiful!" Than I walk in the bathroom to get ready and there were these most gorgeous flowers that I have seen! It was an arrangement of different pink gerber daisies!!!!!!! 

Than it gets better...... I go to work that afternoon and there are 20 balloons! I mean 20!!!! They were almost dominating the whole office! And the balloons were in cute bright colors. Also there were a bag of Skittles and Sweedish Fish (which are my favorite!) I couldn't believe it! I couldn't help but have a smile on my face the whole time I was working!!!! 

Than that night he took me out, not telling me what we were doing!!!! And the whole time he was driving to our destination he was saying how lucky he was to be with me!!! But really I'm the lucky one! Well.... he took me to Olive Garden, which is my favorite, than we had Italian Cream Sodas, again my favorite!  And a very delicious dinner! Afterwards we went to Barnes and Noble, you guess it.... it's my favorite store! And we sat there reading all these picture books of places I want to go because I love traveling!!!!!!! Than we ended the night just talking!!!!! How amazing is that!!! I can't express how much all those little acts mean to me! I'm seriously a lucky girl, dating an amazing guy, I have amazing friends and family! It doesn't get better than this!!!!!!

Valentine's Dance Picture

For Valentine's day Dustin and I did a double with another couple. The guys made us dinner and it was Chicken Alfredo which is my FAVORITE! Than we went to the Valentine's dance and here is our picture! I was trying to look seductive but like always I can never pull that look of! Ha ha! But it was fun!

Getting Ready for Valentine's Day!

I wasn't sure what to give Dustin for Valentine's so I decided to get him some snickers (his favorite candy bar) and tie a thing I like about him around it and I put it in a popcorn bowl with pop corn and stuff! It was kinda fun to make! Hopefully he will like it!

Life is Good!

Well life is good!!! Dustin and I have been dating almost two weeks, but I kind of have this two week curse, where I will only like a guy for two weeks, so we tease that he has till Saturday so we better live it up!!! Well the last two weeks have been quite fun, Dustin and I started reading the "Tale of Two Cities" which is always a highlight every night after long hours of homework. We also have little goals that we want to do while we are dating. Two of them we did the last two weeks, Dustin and I went to Craigo's and got a cookie monster because he has never had one, also we watched "Horton hears a who" which is such a cute show. We also have other goals we would like to do such as write a song, and make dinner together, and much more!
It's been really fun so far because we are both art majors we spent long nights in the Spori building but it's fun because we help each other out. Also since we spend such long days there, one day Dustin surprised me and made me lunch! And he seriously makes the best Peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches! What's also really fun is that all the art teachers are having a kick with the idea of us dating, that I have one art teacher that always comes up to me and asks "how's Dustin?" and he laughs.... I used to be kind of embarrassed about it but now I respond by winking and saying "He's doing really good!!!" ha ha!
He also has been coming to my house every Sunday to eat and afterwards we play Settlers with Paul, Bri, and my dad and it gets real competitive. So live is good!

I'm on cloud nine!

So here's a little story..... about a year ago I met this guy named Dustin, I thought he was cute and I wanted him to ask me on a date but he never did. Well time passed and Dustin and I were friends and we were dating other people. Than this last semester we started having just one class together! I was really excited... and the next day he asked me on a date! I had to wait a year! Well to make a long story short.... we started to hang out a lot, and last week we started dating! It has been way fun.... and we have had some funny stories along the way! But tonight I got my kiss! And I'm just going to say.... it was worth waiting a year!

It's been a while!

It has been a while since I last wrote! A lot has happened! But I won't go into all the details! What's new is I quit Porter's about a month ago and now I work as the secretary in the art department at the college and I love it! I get to know the teacher's in a personal level and I get to know what's going on!
Also this semester I'm going to try and apply to the BFA program! I'm super excited! So I have been in the art building average 12 hours a day! And I love it! I have been there 4 in the morning to midnight!
Also I'm actually dating someone! And it has lasted longer than two weeks! So maybe I'm breaking my pattern that I have had for the last 6 months! I'm excited because we have a lot of things we want to do! Such as read a book together, make dinner, try a cookie monster (because he has never had one!) watch every movie that we have quoted, if we ever catch up! ha ha! But I will try and post all the fun things that we are planning on doing! I will try and do better about this whole blog thing!

Pumpkin Carving!!!

Well, I'm finally putting up a new post! I have had some complaints, soo yeah! Well life has been busy with school and everything but I love it!
So every year, starting last year, my family has a pumpkin carving contest. So this year I decided that I must win, so I created an awesome design, well sort of, I did Jack from Nightmare Before Christmas. I thought that it was simple, and less is more, so I didn't think it would be too hard. Well, it was, and very time consuming. It took Jed and I 2 1/2 hours to complete it, but it was totally worth it!
What was funny is that I was really into it in the begining and Jed thought I was crazy, but by the end he was into it way more than me, we had to give everything just right!
Since Jack was so skinny, we had to shove a lot of tooth picks in that thing! It was hilarious!
But it turned out great I thought, Jed was so proud of it! It was really fun doing it with his family as well!
