Spring Break

I'm doing some major catching up. I don't remember the last time I was so behind on this blog. It's just been a crazy few months. Dustin has been busy with school stuff and being in the Elder's quorum presidency, then he had to get his gall bladder removed and the healing that came after that. Then I took another online art class and now I'm teaching Gospel Doctrine while our kids have their activities and school. Anyway, I'm hoping this summer I will be able to catch up on here and keep up.

Anyway..... for Spring break back in March Dustin and I last minute decided to take the kids to San Antonio and Sea World. It was perfect, the weather was cooler in the morning (hence the coats in the first picture) but by noon it was the perfect weather and there were no crowds we could walk on the roller coasters with no wait, it was perfect. We also went to the River Walk with the kids and eat at The Rainforest Cafe, the kids thought it was great. I love family trips.

Aquatica-San Antonio

Here in SeaWorld, they also have a water park called Aquatica, like the one in Orlando. And this last week we decided to go as a family. The kids love the water park, we don't go as often as SeaWorld but we go about once a week, I actually like this one better than Orlando;... so I don't have any pictures of them in the water because I was afraid to get my camera wet, but we did get a couple.

We also went to SeaWorld to see the Azul show because I wanted to take some pictures because it's a visually striking show, but we didn't get close enough seats to have any really awesome pictures, o well, maybe next time.
Than we went back to Aquatica to see the Polynesian Show, it was a lot of fun but we liked the one in Orlando better, but this one was free so we can't complain. Thomas just played in the sand the whole time.

Between the numbers they would have a lot of activities that the audience could be involved in, Dustin was very good to get involved. Thomas and Dustin did the limbo.
And here is Dustin learning to dance while holding Oliver.

It's been a lot of fun to have theme parks close by again, but we have been super busy, and it's just going to get busier the next little bit.
Dustin is heading back to the Dallas area tomorrow for a couple days because he's has a couple of teaching job interviews,  than we are going to get family pictures done the day he gets back, 4th of July, than Dustin's sister and her family are coming up for a few days and we will be hitting all the parks, than later that week my brother and his family are coming down.

It seems like life never settles down but I wouldn't have it any other way!

San Antonio's SeaWorld!

YAY for SeaWorld!
Last week I got my pass and we went to SeaWorld for a couple hours, I was sooooo excited, pathetic, I know. Thomas was really excited as well, which made me even MORE excited. Poor kid, I kept telling him about the whales and that we were going to see them soon, but it took a couple of days before Dustin could get the ticket, so when I would drop Dustin off at work  we would see pictures of Shamu and statues, Thomas would ask if were going to see the Whales and I would have to tell him not that day. So when we finally could go, he was so excited. So the first thing we did was to see the Shamu show, and he loved it! That now every time we go to SeaWorld we see the Shamu show.
We've been almost everyday now, so every time we get in the car Thomas says, " Going to see the Whales?" I also love hearing him talk about the show and how the whales "fly" out of the water. We still haven't seen everything because we just go a couple hours at a time. I haven't gone on all the rides yet either, but it was nice to get back on a roller-coaster, it's been WAY TOO LONG!
There are things I like better here than Orlando's SeaWorld, but overall I have liked Orlando's better, maybe my opinion will change once I know this park better, because it's still all new, but I feel like Orlando has more animals and so far all the exhibits that I have seen have been smaller here. And they don't have my all time favorite show, but I like the Aquatica water park better here, it's a little smaller but the set up is a lot better in my opinion.
I'm hoping to take advantage here and take awesome pictures of the animals, since I didn't do that very much in Orlando, but our first day I just mainly took pictures of the kids "first time" experience.

So if anyone wants to come down and see SeaWorld let us know, we love having visitors! And we have a lot more room in this apartment than the one in Orlando!

Heading Off!

Well tomorrow I'm heading to Washington DC, and Pennsylvania for about 2 weeks!!! I'm WAY excited, than Dustin will head over next weekend, since he couldn't ask too many days off.
So Thomas and I decided to head to SeaWorld one last time before we leave, this time I tried to take some cool pictures because I haven't before because it's tricky when it's just Thomas and I. I had to hold him while I was taking all these pictures because I didn't want him to run off somewhere and also he wanted to see all the cool things too. Before we move I want to take more cool pictures but I think next time I will have Dustin come with me so I don't have to juggle Thomas and the camera.
The Sea Turtles are new this year, and it's a really fun exhibit, the turtles are way fun to see swim around, at least the smaller ones, the big ones don't swim as much. The bottom picture is "Stitch", she is the main turtle and see is HUGE, easily 3/4 of me, she is also missing on of her fins, I guess they rescued her, and I think she might be 40-50years old? I know at least 20+. Anyway, she was awesome she came and posed for us, or she was just interested in my camera, but she started making Thomas nervous.

We are going to miss having SeaWorld so close.

Luau @ SeaWorld

Tonight we got the chance to go to a Luau at SeaWorld!
I have been wanting to go since we moved here, but it's $50 per person, but with Dustin's discount it would be $30 so we have planned on going but never came around doing it.
Well, my new visiting teacher owns the Luau and she got us in for FREE! I love her to death! Her and I just bonded at her first visit with me, as Anne in Anne of Green Gables says, we are "kindred spirits"! She is such a delight and it was so nice of her to get us in.

We had a blast! The show was AMAZING! We didn't take that many pictures because we just wanted to enjoy the show,  but there were a lot of hula dancers, drums, music, and fire dancing, which was my favorite part, that guy was INCREDIBLE!
I love experiencing other cultures and getting to know people from all over the world. Half of our ward is Polynesian, and they are the nicest people, and hard workers.

Dustin and I keep saying how much we are going to miss Florida, we have been spoiled here with having so many rich experiences and opportunities, but we are excited for our next adventure, but while we are still here we are going to take advantage of it!

Thomas liked the show for the most part, sometimes he got scared because it was pretty loud, but most of the time he just sat there and watch.
