Easter

We had a great Easter this year. I love Easter and I love the reason why we celebrate it!
We started our celebrations Saturday morning with the kids' Easter baskets and we hid eggs through out the house. Then they had donuts and candy for breakfast, they were in heaven.
Later that afternoon we had another Easter egg hunt and yummy lunch! Thanks to the Cruz family! The boys were excited to get even more candy.
Then Sunday best. There isn't a picture of all three together because Peter fell asleep after church so we took his pictures afterwards maybe the next time we go to church I will take a picture of all three because I thought their little outfits were adorable; especially Peter with the hat!
Then Easter dinner. I had fun setting up the table, I love holidays, if you haven't noticed... so I had a great time getting things ready.  We had ham, funeral potatoes, homemade rolls, raspberry cream salad, lemon cupcakes, it was very yummy.

Good Friday

Dustin had Good Friday off so we decided to go to Dallas again and check out the Art museum with the kids and to hang out in the park and just enjoy the day with just us.

The kids really liked the art museum, you never know with kids, but I loved how Thomas was really paying attention and looking at the artwork; it reminded me when my dad would take us to art museums in Europe. I especially remember the Louvre and there was a painting by Jacques-Louis David called The Coronation of Napoleon  that really got me thinking about doing art, I had always loved drawing but there was something about that painting that made an impression on me that has always stayed with me.

Anyway it was a perfect fun day! We even got to hang out with my brother and his family afterwards! I love family time.

So Peter loves anything stuffed animal, that he loved this stuffed animal chair, so I went to take a picture of him by it, then the other kids joined and now it's just an awkward family picture ha ha.
Looking at the painting.
We didn't care for the sculptures but we thought how they set it up was cool.
And I ran into my awesome friend, Lesli! This girl is awesome!

Dyeing Eggs

Yesterday we finally dyed eggs. Why I say finally, because my boys have been asking almost everyday when we were going to do it this past month. Each kid had six eggs and I thought that would be enough but nope, they wanted more; my kids love anything with color, it's so fun. I love when we get to do fun little traditions with our little family.

27th Birthday!

This Friday was my 27th birthday! I know it's not old, but it's just weird how fast time is going. Like today I noticed Thomas has his first loose tooth! When did I have a kid old enough to loose his baby teeth?
Anyway, this birthday I felt like it was a two day thing, yesterday we went out to eat with our little family and had cake. I ended up making my cake, because I really wanted the Lemon cake I make, and it was gone less then twelve hours!! It's pretty yummy. Then today Dustin took me to downtown Dallas to go to the art museum and to walk around the city. It was fun looking at art and talking about the pieces and why they were successful and the process the artists' would use. We actually got in trouble for standing to close to the art, oops. I really love that Dustin and I share this passion together.
After the museum we got some food truck food and walked around the park and did some life sketching. It was a lot of fun, I was telling Dustin we need to do more dates like this!

Snap Shots

Running behind on the blog so... SNAP SHOTS from the last few weeks.

For Dr. Seuss' birthday the kids had green eggs and ham......or bacon... same animal. Then that day for pre-school we made Cat in the Hat hats with their names.
Since weather has been nice (except this last week) Dustin and the boys have been playing soccer in the backyard.
Peter loves this dog toy and walks with it everywhere, it's pretty cute.
Then this past Friday we were planning on going camping, but it's been raining all week so Dustin decided to camp anyway. So for Friday night we did a movie/camping night in our living room. We rented the Peanuts movie. The boys loved it! Dustin is way more fun than me that's for sure.
Also this week was spring break so Dustin was home! I had some big projects that I wanted to get done, especially our yard, but because it was wet all week and me ending up with Mastitis, yuck, it's the worst; we ended up chilling inside which was fun too.
